Christa Wolf: A Writer of Extreme Times for Extreme Times 

We live in tough times. So did Christa Wolf. Indeed, Wolf’s whole project is arguably about the epistemology of extreme situations. This special issue seeks to demonstrate one of the major reasons why we should be reading Wolf today: her texts deal with difficult situations in radically sincere ways.
